How does CBD work in pets?

It works the same way it works in people, by stimulating the endocannabinoid system to restore balance in the body, called homeostasis.

Is THC necessary for CBD to work?

No. This belief was common before further research was done regarding hemp’s other cannabinoids. New information has shown that THC and CBD can sufficiently function without the other. Broad Spectrum products that are THC-free but still have several other cannabinoids present are the most beneficial as the cannabinoids can complement each other’s individual effects.

Is THC safe to use in pets?

We do not recommend giving THC to animals. Every species will experience different reactions to the compound. Dogs are highly sensitive to its psychoactive properties, while cats are less susceptible. THC in larger animals like horses can be potentially dangerous to both the animal and owner, due to THC causing excessive excitement or positive drug tests.

Is THC an important medicinal cannabinoid?

THC does have clinical value individually or when combined with other cannabinoids. However, Cannabidiol along with the other significant cannabinoids, minor cannabinoids, and terpenes found in our Broad-Spectrum hemp extract is more than adequate to address homeostasis.

Our veterinarian formulated IndigoPetCo CBD Pet Treats provide a Broad Spectrum profile of synergistic compounds that are naturally present in our 0.0% THC Phytocannabinoid-Rich organically grown hemp oil. Each IndigoPetCo CBD Pet Treat is beef flavored and easy to digest. They are specially formulated to help canines as a supplement.

What is Free Sale Certification? And What Does It Mean About Our Products?

Having a free sale certificaion means our products have been certified by the CDPHE (Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment)

Not All Hemp is Created Equal (Learn Why?)

Industrial hemp is genetically inferior when it comes to the content of its therapeutic components, yet it is defined the same way by the regulatory agencies.

Many brands, companies, and legal counsel still believe that hemp-derived CBD must come from overseas to be “fully legal.” This is because they are not taking into consideration the landmark Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018 (more commonly known as the 2018 Farm Bill) which legalized for the first time since 1937, a Federally legal pathway to growing and shipping across interstate commerce “industrial hemp” once again on American soil. Our company conforms entirely to 2018 Farm Bill, and our “proprietary hemp genetics” were developed and grown in the great State of Colorado.

Our Hemp is Grown On American Farms

Our naturally developed genetic strains of Phytocannabinoid-Rich (PCR) hemp grow on one of the largest Industrial Hemp Farms in the country. We employ organic farming practices. Our state-of-the-art cloning program ensures consistency of our genetic strains and promises a safe and regulated product, with excellent characteristics. Each year, the Colorado State Department of Agriculture tests the hemp plants on our farms for the THC content to ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations. We have never failed a test. Our location is open for tours to the public so you can see first had our facility and the pride we take in our farms.

Our new extraction and purification facility has also been FDA-registered.

Meeting all of the health, wellness and food safety criteria, in its zone, that not only food distributors must meet, but we also strive to reach the standards of FDA-approved pharmaceutical manufacturers.

Natural Genetic Strains

Our Phytocannabinoid-Rich hemp plants produce a high amount of CBD naturally.

Each plant on average produces:

18% Cannabidiol (CBD)

1-2% Cannabigerol

1-2% Cannabinol (CBN)

1-2% Cannabichromene (CBC)

less than .3% THCA

All of the synergistic compounds found in our plants have evolved naturally to support a high amount of phytocannabinoids.

Broad-Spectrum Hemp Oil Proprietary Genetics

Our Manufacturer maintained the purest essences derived from proprietary genetics and preserved as Trade Secrets in our Broad Spectrum oil and finished products. Our Manufacturer’s proprietary chromatographic purification process selectively removes Delta 9-THC and other undesirable impurities from our Full Spectrum hemp extract and purified oils.

Our Manufacturer’s proprietary processes do not expose the extracted products to high temperature or adverse conditions as with other manufacturers’ fractional distillation processes. Our latest methodologies preserve the plant’s terpene profile, eliminating potential degradation of cannabinoids and mitigating possible oxidation of other botanical compounds.

The rich blend of phytocannabinoids, terpenes, sterols and flavonoids contained within our latest Broad Spectrum oil provides greater synergistic reactions, known to some as the Entourage Effect, only without the psychoactive component of the hemp plant, i.e., “THC.”

With our sights and priorities always set on quality, transparency, and consistency, Our Manufacturing facility has earned, by obtaining a perfect score on our State quality inspection and GMP protocols, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment’s Free Sale Certificate. This Free Sale Certificate certifies our 0.0% THC Broad Spectrum PCR hemp oil, water-soluble liquid, and finished products.

What Is Water Soluble CBD?

Why Our Products Are Setting Quality Standards (Patent Pending Water-Soluble Formula)

Our Manufacturer has several proprietary and patent pending Phytocannabinoid-Rich (PCR) water-soluble options. Water-soluble technology is used to create a liquid or a powder that results in water-soluble and highly bioavailable cannabidiol. This method solves the issue with pure Phytocannabinoid-Rich hemp oil that is water-insoluble, and thus not readily absorbed into the bloodstream.

When our hemp oil converts into a water-soluble liquid, it quickly goes into the solution, forming cannabinoid emulsion droplets with an average size of 25 nanometers, providing a high surface area for enhanced bioavailability-Resulting in a superior ingredient. Our standard Phytocannabinoid-Rich (PCR) water-soluble contains 20% CBD, other minor phytocannabinoids, and terpenes. This proprietary formulation creates optimum bioavailability and maximum absorption.

Our Products Contain (0.0% THC) How Can We Make This Claim?

0.0%THC means our products produce absolutely no psychoactive effects or side effects associated with THC. Every batch is tested to ensure 0.0% THC.

We use chromatographic purification process has been able to selectively remove the only psychoactive component, Delta 9-THC, from the Phytocannabinoid-Rich (PCR) hemp oil. The absence of detectable THC through High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) instruments. Our purification process selectively removes Delta 9-THC, while leaving intact the other synergistic components of the oil, the resulting hemp extracts are non-psychoactive while still delivering the entourage effect for biological activity and efficacy. Our products have been certified by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) as being THC-Free (non-detectable THC) Phytocannabinoid-Rich hemp oil that meets the requirements for human consumption as well as legal distribution, and as a result, CDPHE has issued us a Certificate of Health and Free Sale.

What Is The Difference Between Supercritical Hemp Oil vs. Ethanol Extracted Hemp Oil?

The difference between supercritical hemp oil vs. ethanol extracted hemp oil?

Two separate processes produce our Phytocannabinoid-Rich Hemp Oil. The first process utilizes supercritical CO2 to provide an extract rich in terpenes, Cannabidiol (CBD), and other phytocannabinoids. This extract is further subjected to winterization in ethanol and solvent removal through vacuum distillation. After the chlorophyll, waxes, and THC are removed, the resulting product is a PCR hemp oil with 70-90% CBD, minor cannabinoids, and terpenes.

The second solvent-extraction process utilizes ethanol for extraction, followed by the same purification processes as the first, to remove chlorophyll, waxes, and THC. The only difference between the two methods is that the first step, extraction, utilizes different solvents; CO2 and ethanol, respectively.

Irrespective of the process, the critical attributes of the oil (CBD %, terpenes, minor cannabinoids) remain the same. Since the extract from both methods undergoes the same set of purification steps, the resulting hemp oil attributes remain comparable and similar from the two approaches.

Our Manufacturer uses both types of oils to fulfill orders, as they are comparable and interchangeable. The resulting products possess the same level of quality and consistency. The PCR hemp oils are the same irrespective of the extraction solvents as the manufacturing is designed to arrive at the same quality attributes that are critical to our customers.
